Presentation Task and Grades in Español

Presentation Task and Grades in Español
This week in Spanish, we are doing our last presentation task, this includes painting a painting using water colors, and then writing a paragraph about our painting. A painting that is a certain style, for example, baroque, cubism, surrealism, realism, folkloric, automatism, portrait or self portrait. On Tuesday, we sketched it out. On Wednesday we started painting, and on Friday we wrote the paragraph about our painting. We also got our suitcase drawing back that we made at the beginning of the year, our scrapbook grade, we got back the grade for the shapes and quiz, we got our student progress report back and the conversation task for the beach unit back.

Cinco de Mayo week

This week we worked on our Chichén Itza project. For the project we created a scrapbook, about when we 'went' to the beach, Chichén Itza, and the market. On Wednesday we learned what Cinco de mayo was. On Thursday we had an awesome party. We made tortillas and added toppings such as guacamole, cheese,  salsa, and sour cream. It was awesome, and we also had soda, and we played hangman with Mrs. Jackson.
Over all, this week was super cool!

Spanish update

This week we learned about Chichén Itza. We learned about the temples in Chichén Itza, for example the temple of kukúlan, the temple of Jaguars, and the temple of warriors. When an equinox happens, a shadow is casted on the castle and it looks like kukúlan is slithering down the side of the stairway. We also learned about the ball court and how the game that is played in the ball court is played. In addition, we learned that there are thousand columns by the temple of warriors and each column has a drawing of a warrior on it. The observatory (aka the snail) is were the Mayans go to study the plants and stars. The last thing we learned about was the sinkhole. The Mayan made human sacrifices by dropping the person into the sinkhole. The Mayan also sacrificed their gold, jade, and copper for the rain god, Chaac, to bring rain in the dry seasons.🇪🇸🇪🇸
